Wire Drawing : E.C.Grade copper or aluminium wire rod is cold drawn to the required size on continuous type wire drawing machines using T.C or Diamond wire drawing dies. The finished size is drawn using diamond wire drawing dies to ensure exact diameter and finish. |
Annealing : Aluminium or Copper wires if required are annealed in a pot type annealing furnace at the predetermined temperature and duration to meet the specified hardness / elongation requirements as per the BIS specification. |
Stranding / Bunching : For multistrand conductor the drawn wires are stranded or bunched together on stranding / bunching machines. For bigger size cables the conductor is shaped or compacted. |
Core Insulation : The conductor is insulated with PVC compound by Extrusion process. Modern extruders of high L/D ratio with automatic temperature controllers and continuously variable ac/dc drive are used to ensure uniform and flawless extrusion. The extruders are fitted with non-contact type automatic diameter monitoring gauges to continuously check and maintain the diameter. |
Core Laying : For multicore cables, the extruded cores are colour coded or number coded and laid up together on core laying machines. FINECAB has the facilities to do core laying up to 61 core cables. |
Inner Sheathing : The laid up cores are inner sheathed with extruded PVC to ensure uniformly thick bedding of PVC so that the armour steel wire / strip does not damage insulated cores. |
Armoring: The inner sheathed cable is provided with galvanized steel wire or galvanized formed wire (flat strip) armour. The armouring is done as close as practicable with a suitable lay length. |
Outer Sheathing : Outersheathing or Jacketing is done by extrusion on modern extrusion lines of high L/D ratio with automatic temp controllers / air cooling devices. The diameter is regularly monitored and controlled. Sequential meter length marking can also be given on the cable outersheath as per the customers requirements. Micro Processor based Ink Jet printing facility to print cable identification and sequential meter length is also available. |
Screening: Cables for special application such as instrumentation cables can also be screened with aluminium mylar (polyester) tape with annealed tinned copper conductor drain wire to reduce signal interference. Cable can be made with individual core / pair screening and/or overall screening. |
